The Minnesota Office of Tourism voted The Big Island Rendezvous one of the state's Top 25 Festivals. It is a celebration of history during the fur trade period (1650 - 1840) and early Frontier America (1750-1880) including the Civil War Era and Pioneer Settlement (1840-1800). Rendezvous opens at 9:00 AM and closes at 6:00 PM on Saturday and 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Sunday.

All day event- *Blue Groove set is at 4pm The festival backdrop is beautiful Lake Elmo Park Reserve 2,165-acre parkland, 30 miles east of the Twin Cities metro area. As a park reserve, 80% of the parks total land will be restored to pre-settlement, native vegetation. It’s a great place to recreate, camp, and enjoy nature.

Bring your lawn chairs or blankets for an afternoon of enjoyment. Family Friendly. Camping available on-site, food trucks on-site, and face painting! Please, no animals or alcohol at the festival.

The Bluegrass Festival is free. A vehicle permit is required to enter the park.

Aug 14-16, 2025 Get ready for the sound of Bluegrass music echoing through Driftless Wisconsin valley 2025 will be the 28th year of LarryFest, a Bluegrass music festival held annually in a valley in rural LaFarge, Wisconsin. The fest features two outdoor stages of live music performances from local and national talent. Festgoers bring lawn chairs to watch performances and comfortable shoes if they like to dance. The valley creates a natural outdoor, music amphitheater for the fest that can be heard for miles. Rustic camping and RVs are set up throughout the valley for the three days of music. Download your map and enjoy this chance to be unplugged as cell service is intermittent!

Summary of Facilities: Modern, heated, clean, bathrooms and showers, Electric hookups can handle 50, 30 or 20 amp plugs. Contact SEMBA in advance to reserve. Over 5 miles of wilderness hiking trails in addition to the bike trail. Direct access to the Root River for fishing, canoeing, and tubing fun. Dump station, Picnic tables, Fire rings, water available Cushon’s Peak Campground offers direct access to the Root River Bike Trail. This 10’ wide paved trail weaves its way through the beautiful bluff country of Southeast Minnesota. Just down the trail, the City of Houston has a Nature Center with many unique educational programs. After your ride, enjoy a hot shower and relax at your campsite.

Enjoy an evening of bluegrass music presented by Blue Groove. Free concert with seating available in the concert area which is located just down the path from the Springbrook Nature Center building. This is an outdoor arena, so please be aware of any weather considerations before your arrival.

RecFest is Milaca's annual music festival held in Milaca's historical Recreational Park. This four day event features some of the region's most noted bands and musicians, educational workshops, instrumental jam sessions, food and beverage vendors. Camping available on site- reserve early as most sites are non-electric. Showers available. The grounds are flat with paved walkways for our friends who may have mobility challenges. Also, there is a splash pad water feature on the park grounds to keep cool!
